tony gonzalez-5-1024x1024Anthony David Gonzalez was born in Torrance, California on February 27 the year 1976. He was raised in the southern part of California and was a student at Huntington Beach High School, where he was a top athlete on both the basketball and football teams. Gonzalez excelled in these sports at the University of California, Berkeley. He was instrumental in guiding the team's football team to 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, Gonzalez set a record at the school for receptions with nine and set it again. A few months later Gonzalez helped lead the basketball team to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA basketball tournament. Gonzalez then went to the NFL Draft in 1997. The Kansas City Chiefs selected Gonzalez as the 13th overall pick. Gonzalez was with the Chiefs between 1997 and 2008. He was later transferred to the Atlanta Falcons. Starting in Gonzalez's second year in the NFL, he never caught less than 59 of them in an entire season.
